Helga Nguyen
Helga Nguyen, from Germany, has for several years lived and worked in the Lot. Seduced by the region she has lived in the Causse, in the heart of the countryside, later in the mysterious valley of the Ouysse. There she has found her inspiration for her paintings.
“ By preference I paint the countryside around me which leads me to the reveries that lose their identities and carries me to my own interior landscapes.
When painting in my studio I try to recall those magic moments experienced whilst travelling. To accentuate the imagination I like to give a transparent effect for movement or using the density of materials.
I use all that I find to realize my canvases. I paint with acrylic, watercolor, with wall paint, felt and ink or I make collages on old oak planks using brushes, hand and cloth etc. ”

Helga Nguyen now Helga Verdoire identifies herself with this isolated place where she lives.
A magic environnement protected by the mystical rocks on the one side and the musical sounds of this strange river of the Ouysse on the other.
A place that doesn’t exist elsewhere because of the spiritual feeling which allows the freedom to paint each new day with an insatiable passion to create.
So is born in large and small formats these different landscapes with its multiple facets especially the images of the Quercy, with its rocks, flowers, misty valleys, isolated homes, the inhabitants, the flora and fauna surrounding this little paradise still far away from the outside world.
